Your profile, the leaderboard and the activity feed

Updated

Your profile is your public study page: your nickname, picture, status, score estimate and progress. Anyone can see it, including people without an Aniko account. The Leaderboard ranks students by points from the last 7 days, and the activity feed shows what students are doing.

What your profile shows

Click Profile in the top menu to see what others see:

  • Your picture, nickname and status. If you work with a human tutor, Tutored by: shows their name.
  • Badges for your level, SAT date, study streak, practice tests, score lift and mastery. See What do my achievements mean?
  • Your score estimate with its range, and your questions, accuracy and difficulty.
  • Tabs with your analytics, including official SAT and Bluebook scores you add, your timeline, this week's study plan and your question collections.

Your email, the legal name you give for the Score Guarantee, your subscription and your AI tutor chats are never shown. See Who can see my chats with the AI tutor?

Who can see it

Anyone on the internet can open your profile, and search engines may list it, as section 5 of the Terms of Service says. There's no setting to make your profile private or hide part of it. Profiles are designed to be anonymous, so use a nickname and an avatar rather than your real name and photo.

To take something off your profile, change your nickname, status or picture, delete a score you added or delete your own feed messages. See Add an official SAT or Bluebook score. Deleting your account removes everything. See Manage your account.

Change your nickname, status and picture

  1. Click Profile in the top menu.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Change your Profile Picture, Nickname or Status. For the picture, pick an avatar or click Upload.
  4. Click Save.

Nicknames must be unique, up to 40 characters, and statuses run up to 100. Pictures can be PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 1 MB. All 3 are checked before they appear: if one is flagged, change it and save again.

The Leaderboard

The Leaderboard, in the top menu, shows the top 20 students by points from the last 7 days. Correct answers in study sessions, Review Labs and finished practice tests earn points, and harder questions earn more. Vocab and Free Resources don't count. Older answers drop off as the days pass, so your rank shows this week's practice.

All shows everyone and updates every few minutes, and Friends shows you and your friends. Top students also appear on Home and on Aniko's public leaderboard. The Lock-In Challenge has its own leagues on the Challenge page.

The activity feed

The activity feed sits in the side column of Home on a computer or tablet. See more opens it in full, and so does Friends > Activity Feed. It posts on its own when a student finishes a session or test, reaches a new score high, keeps a streak or levels up. You can also:

  • Post a message of up to 100 characters in the Chat with other students... box, then press Enter.
  • Reply or react with an emoji: hover over a post.
  • Delete your message with ... > Delete. Automatic posts can't be deleted.

There are no private messages on Aniko, and every message is checked before it appears. If yours is flagged, you'll see "This is a place where students support each other, try to write something less edgy." The Terms of Service ban bullying, harassment and hateful content. To report a student, email hello@aniko.ai with their nickname and what happened.

Friends

To add a friend, open their profile from the leaderboard, the feed or Friends > All Students, and click Add Friend. It works like following, so there's no request to accept. To remove a friend, click Friend on their profile.

A friend who joins Aniko from your invite link becomes your friend automatically. See Redeem a code or invite a friend.

Frequently asked questions

It shows only the top 20 students. Answer more questions correctly, especially harder ones, and finish any practice test you've started.

No. Points only rank this week's practice. See How does the score estimate work?
