Use Analytics to find your weak spots
Updated
Your stats are on Analytics, in the top menu. It shows how you're doing in each SAT section, domain and skill, and highlights your weakest areas so you know what to practice next.
Each SAT section has 4 domains, such as Algebra, and each domain has skills, the specific question types. See What's on the SAT?
What Analytics shows
From the top of the page:
- Questions, Accuracy and Difficulty: your all-time totals. Click one to see it day by day.
- Reading & Writing and Math: every domain, with the questions you've answered, your average time per question, your mastery and a Performance range.
- SAT scores: your score estimate over time, labeled Aniko Estimate, next to any official SAT or Bluebook scores you add. See Add an official SAT or Bluebook score.
- Activity and Study Time: how many questions you answered and how long you studied each day.
What the numbers mean
- Accuracy: the share of your answers that were right, counting every answer, including questions you redo in a Review Lab.
- Mastery: how well you know a domain or skill, from your first answer to each question only.
- Difficulty: the average level of the questions you answered, from 0% if every one was Easy to 100% if every one was Hard. So Difficulty 67% means between Medium and Hard, on average. It means the same on Home and the Leaderboard.
- Performance: a range from 200 to 800 that shows the section score your mastery of that domain is in line with.
- Avg time: your average seconds per question. A domain is marked too fast or too slow when your pace is well off the expected pace for that domain.
To choose what to practice, go by mastery, not accuracy. Accuracy includes questions you've seen before, so it can look higher than what you really know.
Find your weak spots
- On Analytics, look for the highlighted domain names: your 3 domains with the lowest mastery. The weakest stands out in a different color.
- Click the down arrow next to a domain to see its skills. The skill with the lowest mastery is highlighted.
- For more detail, click the diagonal arrow next to a domain. Its page shows your mastery over time, accuracy and timing by skill and difficulty, and your latest errors.
Practice a weak skill
On a computer, hover over a domain or skill name and click:
- Practice to start a study session on it. See How do study sessions work?
- Review to start a Review Lab on it, with the questions you missed. See What is a Review Lab?
On a phone, tap Study Session or Review Lab under Study plan priorities on Home, then pick the skill.
With low mastery and many misses, start with a Review Lab, then a study session on new questions. If you're right on Easy but wrong on Hard, practice that skill at Medium or Hard.
You can also ask the AI tutor "What are my weak areas?" It sees the same data and can add sessions to your plan. Your study plan already gives your weakest skills more practice. See How is my study plan built?
What counts
- Counts: study sessions, including your diagnostic and sessions you start yourself, Review Labs, and practice tests. A practice test's answers appear once you finish it.
- Doesn't count: practice in the Free Resources question bank and vocab practice.
Frequently asked questions
Accuracy counts every answer, including questions you redo in a Review Lab, where you may remember the answer. Mastery counts only your first answer to each question. Check Difficulty too: high accuracy on mostly Easy questions says less than on Hard ones.
You haven't finished the diagnostic yet, the short sessions you take when you sign up. Finish them and Analytics fills in with your mastery in every domain. See How does the diagnostic work?
Yes. Your profile is public, and its Analytics tab shows them. See Your profile, the leaderboard and the activity feed.
