How does Aniko use my data?
Updated
Aniko uses your data to run your SAT prep: your email signs you in, and your answers, practice tests and AI tutor chats build your study plan and track your progress. We don't show ads in Aniko, and we never sell your personal data. This is a plain summary. The Privacy Policy is the full set of rules.
What we collect
- Your email address. It creates and secures your account, signs you in and lets us send you emails.
- Your study profile. Your nickname, status, profile picture, study analytics and progress. It's public, so read the section on it below.
- Your study activity and AI tutor chats. Your answers, tests and messages, so we can personalize your plan and the tutor can help you. See Who can see my chats with the AI tutor?
- Payment records. Payments go through our payment processor, so we never see your full card number. We keep only what we need to manage your subscription, such as your plan and its status.
- Technical information. Your IP address, device and browser type, and basic logs, to keep Aniko secure and working.
- Your legal name, only if you take part in the Score Guarantee. It's encrypted, never shown on your profile, and used only to confirm that an official score report is yours.
We use this to run and improve Aniko, secure your account, handle payments, answer your requests and keep the platform safe and fair, which includes stopping cheating and bullying.
No ads in Aniko
Aniko doesn't show ads, from us or anyone else.
We do advertise Aniko on other sites, to adults in the US, including parents. To see which of our ads lead to sign-ups and purchases, we use limited, pseudonymized information about those sign-ups and purchases, shared with advertising platforms and affiliate partners. Your answers, scores, AI tutor chats and study activity are never used for this.
This advertising measurement is on by default. To turn it off:
- Go to Settings > Privacy choices and click Your Privacy Choices.
- Click Disable advertising measurement.
When you're logged in, your choice is saved to your account and applies from then on.
Your public profile
Your study profile is public: anyone on the internet can see it, and search engines can list it. It shows your nickname, picture and status, your scores, practice test results, study plan and recent activity, but never your email or legal name. There's no setting to make it private or hide your scores, so use a nickname and an avatar rather than your real name and photo. See Your profile, the leaderboard and the activity feed.
Get a copy of your data or delete it
- See, copy, correct or delete your data: email hello@aniko.ai from the email address on your account. Depending on where you live, the law gives you these rights, plus the right to object to or limit some uses of your data.
- Delete your account: go to Settings > Danger zone and click Delete my account. In the Privacy Policy's words, this deletes "all of your data … except where we are required to retain limited information to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes." See Manage your account.
Important
Deleting your account is permanent. Nobody can recover your progress afterwards, including our team.

Everything you send to Aniko travels over an encrypted connection, and the most sensitive data, such as a legal name for the Score Guarantee, is encrypted again before it's stored. No system is completely secure, so we also limit and monitor who can access personal data.
