Free plan limits

The Free plan gives you a weekly allowance of questions, practice tests and AI tutor messages. It resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC, which is Sunday afternoon or evening in the US. For paid plans, see Aniko plans compared.

What counts toward your allowance
- Questions you answer in study sessions. Questions in Review Labs and practice tests don't use your question allowance.
- Practice tests you start, whether they're short, half or full, and whether or not you finish them.
- Messages you send to the AI tutor. Your Game Plan and the feedback after a session or test don't count.

Check what you have left
Go to Settings and find the Subscription card. Usage left this week shows how many questions, tests and AI tutor messages you have left.
When you reach a limit
When you've used up your questions, an answer you try to give after that isn't saved, and Aniko takes you to Home, where an upgrade window opens. Your practice test and AI tutor allowances are separate, so you can still use what's left of them. Until Monday, you can:
- Keep reviewing. Review Labs don't use your question allowance, so you can keep working through your mistakes. See What is a Review Lab?
- Upgrade for a bigger allowance or no limits. Essential raises it to 500 questions a week, or 2,000 a month on monthly billing. Premium and Unfair Advantage have no limits.
To fit your study plan into the Free plan next week, add up the questions you set for each study day and keep the total at about 100 or less. You'll find them under Intensity in Study Plan Settings. See Why did my study plan stop on the Free plan?
Frequently asked questions
Usually because a boost ended. While you're active in the Lock-In Challenge, your weekly question and practice test limits go up. The boost stops if you're dropped from the challenge, comes back if you rejoin, and ends when the challenge does. See How does the Lock-In Challenge work?
Your allowance also drops to the Free plan's if a paid subscription ends or a payment fails.
Every Monday at 00:00 UTC. That's Sunday at 8 PM in New York and 5 PM in Los Angeles during daylight saving time, and an hour earlier in winter.
