Change your study plan settings

Updated

Your study plan follows the settings in Study Plan Settings: your target score, test date, focus, study days and practice tests. To open it, go to Study Plan and click Study Plan Settings, or the gear icon on a phone, at the top of any week. For how your plan uses these settings, see How is my study plan built?

What you can change

  • Target Score: your goal, within your predicted score range, or from 400 to 1600 before you have a prediction.
  • Test date: the SAT date your plan prepares you for, from tomorrow up to a year ahead.
  • Focus: the balance between Reading and Writing and Math, and which domains to include. Adaptive is recommended: Aniko balances the sections for you.
  • Intensity: which days you study, and how many questions you do on each, from 5 to 110 a day.
  • Practice Tests: how often full practice tests appear, from once a month to 3 times a week, and which days you take them.

The panel beside the settings previews your predicted and guaranteed scores as you edit. Click Save & update guarantee to keep your changes. If your saved test date or subscription doesn't qualify for the Score Guarantee, the button says Save study plan settings.

What happens when you save

Changing only your Target Score saves right away and changes nothing else.

Changing anything else starts an updated plan. Aniko shows you the new predicted and guaranteed scores first, and asks you to confirm with Save and start updated plan. Then:

  • Tasks you haven't started, from today on, are replaced with a plan built on your new settings. Tasks you've started stay, and so do tasks you or a human tutor added.
  • Tasks you haven't started from more than 2 days ago are archived.
  • Your plan completion starts again at 0%, so it measures your work from now until your test date.
  • Your predicted score and Score Guarantee are updated for your new plan, or the guarantee ends if your new settings no longer qualify.

Everything you've already done stays saved: your answers, your score estimate and your mastery. Your best streak stays too.

Important

During the Lock-In Challenge, a change below the challenge minimum drops you from the challenge and uses a life. Aniko warns you before you save. See What happens if I miss a challenge day?

Reset your study plan

If you've fallen behind and your plan can't reach 90% completion by test day, Reset study plan at the bottom of Study Plan Settings gives you a fresh start from today. Confirm with Reset study plan.

A reset starts your plan completion again at 0% and archives tasks you haven't started from more than 2 days ago. Your answers, score estimate, mastery, streak and challenge status stay. Your predicted score and Score Guarantee are updated for your fresh start.

A reset also drops the completion you've earned so far. If you can still reach 90%, catching up on unfinished tasks usually works better. See How is study plan completion counted?

Frequently asked questions

Yes, for your test date, study days and target score. Ask in the chat. Before it changes your test date or study days, the tutor checks with you, because that restarts your plan completion. For focus, questions per day and practice tests, use Study Plan Settings. See What can the AI tutor do?

The preview pauses when your test date is too close for the Score Guarantee or more than a year away, or when your focus leans far toward one section or leaves out a domain. Aniko needs a balanced plan and enough time to predict your score.

No. Your plan is built from your test date, focus, study days and practice tests, so changing only your target score keeps your plan and your completion as they are.
