AI tutor message limits

Updated

On the Free and Essential plans, each message you send the AI tutor counts toward a limit. The help buttons beside a question don't, so they keep working when you run out. Premium and Unfair Advantage have no message limit.

How many messages you get

  • Free: 10 messages a week. Up to 2 of them can include images.
  • Essential: 50 messages a week with weekly billing, or 200 a month with monthly billing.
  • Premium and Unfair Advantage: unlimited messages.

To see what you have left, go to Settings and find the Subscription card. Usage left this week, or Usage left this month with monthly billing, shows your AI tutor messages. See Aniko plans compared.

What counts

Every message you send counts. That includes Explain like I'm 5, which sends a message for you, and text you quote with Ask Aniko once you send it. A message that fails or can't be sent doesn't count, and neither does tapping an option on a card the tutor shows.

The help buttons don't use messages: Give me a hint, Explain step-by-step, Why not my answer? and Strategy. The Your focus note that opens a session and the feedback after a session or test don't use messages either. See Get help when you're stuck on a question.

When your limit resets

  • Free, and Essential with weekly billing: every Monday at 00:00 UTC, which is Sunday afternoon or evening in the US.
  • Essential with monthly billing: on the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC.

Frequently asked questions

Aniko takes you to Home and shows "You've used all your AI tutor messages." Until your limit resets on Monday, or on the 1st with monthly billing, reopen your session from Home: the help buttons and explanations still work. Premium and Unfair Advantage have no message limit.
