Can I reset a practice test?

Updated

No. Once you finish a practice test, it can't be reset, retaken or removed, and neither can a study session. Each one is a record of how you did, so it stays in your history and in your score estimate.

You can start a new practice test whenever your plan's test allowance has one left. Your score estimate updates each time you finish a study session or practice test, so new work moves it on from a test that went badly. See How do Aniko practice tests work?

Why tests can't be reset

A practice test is most useful when it shows what you'd score on test day. If bad tests could be deleted, your score estimate would only count your best days, and it would stop being a fair guide to your real level. Your study plan and your Score Guarantee both rely on that estimate.

Get the most from your next test

  • Take it in one go. Set aside the full time, and keep the test open in one tab.
  • Answer every question. A question you leave blank counts as wrong, in your test score and in your score estimate. A wrong guess costs nothing extra.
  • Pause when you need a break. Use Pause in the test instead of leaving the tab open. See Pause and resume a practice test.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. A blank question counts as wrong, the same as on the real SAT. Your next study sessions and practice tests will move your estimate on from there.

Yes. Every practice test you start counts toward your plan's weekly or monthly limit, whether it's short, half or full, and whether or not you finish it. See Free plan limits.

No. We don't remove tests or sessions, for the same reason: your score estimate has to reflect all of your work.
